Warming centers

Anyone in need of a warm shelter can go to the Goshen Public Library during regular business hours (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Those needing a warm shelter outside of regular library hours can call the Goshen Police Department at 574.533.4151 for assistance. Link:

Energy Assistance Program- Apply for state assistance through locally administered REAL Services for your heating bills. Avoid disconnect of heat during the winter months. The program runs from November-March, until the funds fun out. To qualify for the program you must have a social security card for everyone over the age of one in the home. The lease/mortgage must have the name of the person applying for the assistance. There ae income guidelines. Contact Real Services at 574-534-2564. Taking calls at the beginning of November.
